Russian Martial Art Festival.

Competing events
There will be 4 events.
  1. ROSS fighting on the Log.
  2. Russian fistycuffs(RAFUK - British championship)
  3. Tatar belt wrestling ( Kurash)
  4. Kettlebell lifting challenge.
There will also Possibly be a 2 hour Sambo- ROSS work shop.

Breakdown of rules and weights for 9/11 british RAF-UK fist fighting championships

The russian fist starts from the elbow and elbows/forarms are used. all parts of the fist are used along with open hands. there is no clinch but you can hold the wrist or back of the head. there are shoulder bardges and pulls. just 1x3 round 1x2 for masters and -16 and -18  RAF-UK rules -16 wear full face head gaurd +7oz mma gloves, -18 same but 4oz glove and men and masters full face head gear.

the under 16 and under 18 and masters will be matched on the day.
Adults Under 80kg light weight,  Under 90kg middle weight and the open 90+ weight

There will be 1 gold, 1 silver,  and 1 bronze for each category

Alexander Retuinskih 2010 Visit

Alexander Retuinskih – Former Moscow Judo Champion and President of ROSS (Russian Self Defence)  will be taking a  Russian Judo and Sambo Session at Cluarankwai Judo Club's Dojo on the Friday the 1st  of October 2010.  Last years session was well attended by judoka from other clubs in Scotland.

 Alexander will demonstrate a number of of 1st class Russian judo Techniques that are based on Russian sambo moves. Everyone taking part last year including Alexander will be  looking forward to this years session.

Summer 2010

Now that  the school's have stopped for the summer holiday season we will be moving to a summer program of training sessions.  The senior sessions will continue as they have been of Monday, Wednesday and Friday.   There will be changes to the junior sessions where there will only be a Monday and Wednesday session.  If your own club is closed over the summer then you are welcome to come to one of our training session.    You will find directions to the club on this web site.   We will also be holding a come and try Judo during all of our sessions during the summer months.  If you wish to try judo then just come along to one of our sessions.

Juniors Sessions:

Monday, Wednesday from 7pm until 8pm

Senior Sessions:

Monday, Wednesday anf friday from 8pm until 9:30
